A New Mexico business alliance says the Albuquerque school superintendent should resign over Twitter messages comparing the state's education secretary to livestock. The CEO of the New Mexico Business Roundtable says the group believes Superintendent Winston Brooks' tweets about Education Secretary Hanna Skandera were “disparaging, hateful and bullying'' and that's not enough that has apologized. Albuquerque Public Schools spokeswoman Monica Armenta told the Albuquerque Journal that Business Alliance CEO Larry Langley has publicly criticized in the past and that the new criticism of Brooks isn't surprising. Albuquerque Public Schools board president Marty Esquivel criticized Brooks' tweets but said Langley is grandstanding with the call for the superintendent to resign. Brooks is at odds with the administration of Gov. Susana Martinez on education policy issues such as teacher evaluations.
