A retired school administrator from northeastern New Mexico has been named by Gov. Susana Martinez to a board overseeing the state lottery. Claude “Pal'' Austin of Clayton was appointed to the seven-member New Mexico Lottery Authority to fill a vacancy created in June when the term of Cliff Stroud of Carlsbad expired. Austin is a real estate broker and retired from Clayton Municipal Schools, where he was principal and superintendent.
