SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) Baseball fans will be able to down a cold one in the stands at Santa Fe's Fort Marcy Ballpark now that the City Council has lifted a restriction that kept guzzlers fenced into what became known as the “beer jail.''
The Council's vote Wednesday allows fans attending Pecos League games to buy up to three beers a game and carry them into the stands. The Santa Fe New Mexican reports the 6-0 vote ends a prohibition that kept drinkers in a fenced-in beer garden. The new policy regulates the number of drinks a person can buy and cuts off sales after the sixth inning.
