SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) The Santa Fe Animal Shelter says it's a challenge to suddenly have to provide shelter for nearly 50 dogs seized from the Edgewood home of a former veterinarian. Executive Director Mary Martin says many of the 48 dogs and puppies may be with the shelter for some time and are injured or not socialized enough.
Martin says many of the dogs have been transferred temporarily to boarding kennels. However, she says the shelter needs help from people willing to adopt animals and donate canned dog food, blankets and towels.
