Judge Orders NM Claims Dropped in Gold King Mine Spill

In a move New Mexico officials say they expected, the Justice Department is asking a Federal Judge to dismiss claims by the State and the Navajo Nation stemming from the Gold King Mine spill. New Mexico was on of the three states affected by the spill and was the first to sue the government, alleging the EPA had not taken full responsibility.

In the final days of the Obama Administration, the EPA announced it would not pay for damages.
