Santa Fe, NM (KKOB) – Santa Fe Police have determined the death of a man and a woman found inside a home on Chalan Rd, was a murder-suicide. SFPD detectives identified the couple as 28-year old Victoria Romero, and 31-year old Xavier Romero, both of Santa Fe. The investigation has revealed that a caller requesting a welfare check, was dating Ms. Romero and knew her to be in the process of separation from her husband, Xavier Romero.
The caller said they had missed a phone call from Ms. Romero. When they returned the call, Mr. Romero answered and questioned them about their romantic relationship before the call ended. Officers did not have a location for Victoria Romero and when they arrived at the home both had at least one gunshot wound and were beyond medical intervention.
