Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –150 barrels and about 250 safety signs, will be part of the the annual Good Friday pilgrimage to El Santuario de Chimayó. According to the New Mexico Department of Transportation, crews have already been preparing for weeks, and will begin 12-hour shifts Thursday evening through Saturday to help keep walkers safe along key routes. The agency said crews are sweeping roads and covering cattle guards for foot traffic. Adding walkers will use on and off ramps at each interchange, and barrels and signs will guide walkers onto the east frontage road so they do not travel on the highway.
