Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Fire crews continue to fight the Unified Fire near Jarales along Highway 304 and Lagrima Road. Officials say the fire started late Tuesday morning near Madrone, east of Jarales, and spread quickly, burning on both sides of the Rio Grande.The fire has grown to about 500 acres and remains zero percent contained. All evacuations have been lifted, and Highway 304 has reopened. Crews are focusing on protecting nearby structures as New Mexico State Forestry takes over command. Officials say no homes have been lost, power has been restored to affected residents, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
