You picked up an extra hour this weekend as we returned to Standard Time. Melissa Romero with the Albuquerque Fire Department says it was also the time for you to check your smoke detector. She tell us you should test by just pressing the test button. It’ll go off for five to ten seconds to indicate it’s working.
Romero says about 50% of Albuquerque homes have smoke detectors that are not functioning properly.
