Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — New Mexico’s high school graduation rate climbed to 80.6% in 2025, the state’s best performance in more than ten years. The increase of 2.4 percentage points places New Mexico 36th out of 39 states reporting data.Rates rose for most student groups, though students experiencing homelessness and those in foster care continued to graduate far below their peers. Los Alamos had the highest rate in the state at 97.1%, while the lowest rate—26.6%—came from a career and technical charter school in Las Cruces. APS reported a 76.8% rate, up nearly one point.
