NM DOT Launches Underage Drinking Ed Campaign

The State Department of Transportation is kicking off a new internet-based campaign to cut down on underage drinking in New Mexico. Loren Hatch is Deputy Cabinet Secretary for the department. He says underage drinking remains a problem in New Mexico.

But Hatch says the state has made significant progress in reducing the numbers over the last decade. Underage drinking in New Mexico has dropped 38% in that time, and state officials hope to drive those numbers down even further.

Hatch tells News Radio KKOB the new program is called “Zero Proof,” and provides resources for kids, parents, and teachers to reduce underage drinking. More information is available at zeroproof.me.
