Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Over $616,00 in funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has been awarded to two New Mexico tribes. The monies for the Pueblo of Tesuque and the Pueblo of Taos comes via the agency’s Indian Environmental General Assistance Program and Clean Water Act grants. Tesuque will receive $297,375 for protection and improvement of water quality in the tribe’s rivers, lakes and groundwater. While Taos will receive $318,634 to help inform members of updates to the environmental program, and create summer and winter emissions inventory.
