Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Another candidate for new mexico governor has thown his hat in the ring. Republican Jim Ellison, a former commissioner of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission, Ellison is the fourth Republican to declare his candidacy for governor, joining Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull, State Sen. Steve Lanier, and Ultra Health CEO Duke Rodriguez. He served as an NMPRC commissioner in 2023 and 2024 and was involved in regulating electric, natural gas, water utilities. Democrats vying for the position are former Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman, and former Las Cruces Mayor Ken Miyagishima.
