September was not a good month for New Mexico’s workforce. The US Labor Department says 4,200 jobs were lost compared to the previous month. That’s a job decline of 0.5%. State officials say, compared to one year ago, New Mexico lost 2,000 jobs.
New Mexico’s unemployment rate rose to 6.7%, the second highest rate in the nation.
