Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — A slight drop in New Mexico’s unemployment rate. That news in a recent jobs report from the state. The report shows that the unemployment rate in New Mexico in September 2025 was 4.1% while nationally, the unemployment rate was 4.4%. The highest unemployment rates in the state continue to be in Luna County, at 9%. In 2024, the reported unemployment rate in New Mexico was 4.3% while in the U.S., it was 4.1%. Some of the largest growth came from the mining and construction sectors, while leisure and hospitality jobs were one of the hardest hit industries.
