Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The city of Santa Fe has received its first three payments on its “mansion tax” just one month after the NM Court of Appeals cleared the way for Santa Fe to begin collecting on the voter-approved 3% excise tax. Santa Fe Mayor, Alan Webber told the Santa Fe New Mexican…”the excise tax is doing what it was predicted to do, which is bring in money for the Affordable Housing Trust Fund.” To date the city has received nearly $59,000. The excise tax applies to home sales over $1 million.
