Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The NM Taxation and Revenue Department is encouraging citizens to check and see if they have any money or other abandoned property held by the state. There’s $390 million worth of money, uncashed checks, safe deposit box contents, and credit balances waiting to be claimed. “The Taxation and Revenue Department wants to reunite owners with their lost property,” said Taxation and Revenue Department Secretary Stephanie Schardin Clarke in a news release. “The holiday season can be financially stressful, and there’s no better time to check for unclaimed property to help alleviate some of that stress.” To find out more check out the state’s Taxation and Revenue website.
