Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman is sharing new results from “Operation Route 66,” a joint law enforcement effort in southeast Albuquerque. Since February, officers have recovered 145 guns, 142 stolen cars, and seized more than 100,000 fentanyl pills. Bregman says what’s happening is unacceptable, pointing out that many of the 640 cases involve repeat offenders who are quickly released. Sheriff John Allen announced a new initiative, “Operation Triple Beam,” to bring in federal partners and pursue federal charges against repeat offenders.
