Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Albuquerque police say tackling youth crime means combining accountability with prevention. APD’s Digital Intelligence Team is finding evidence online and has testified in 21 homicide cases this year. Meanwhile, the city’s Violence Intervention Program steps in after high-risk incidents to break cycles of violence. Officials report that more than 92 percent of youth who received intervention haven’t returned to violent crime in two years. Police say the partnership is helping strengthen cases and reduce repeat offenses.
