Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Six cameras will be installed in each Rail Runner car and a full-time person will be monitoring them in real time, and with a security guard onboard, situations can be handled quickly. The cameras should be up and running by early next year. It’s all about passenger safety says Augusta Meyers, Rail Runner communications manager. As a bonus, the cameras will also be able to detect mechanical issues and those can be handled quickly as well.
