Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — There’s a new arrival at the ABQ BioPark. Gentoo penguins Digit and Killian, parents of Ike who hatched in 2022, have welcomed another chick. The baby hatched November 3 and is being cared for in the Penguin Chill habitat. It may be hard to spot because the parents keep the chick under them for warmth. The BioPark team is monitoring the chick’s health and providing extra food for the parents. Once the chick is ready to explore, the family will move behind the scenes to learn to swim.
