◊ She will impress you with her smarts. She knows sit and is super attentive?
◊ She’s ready to play and laugh with you to help evaporate any work woes you had. Such a wonderful ability dogs have.
◊ When you meet Lena take her to a play yard and toss a toy, ask for a “sit” and have a treat handy. Lena loves treats and affection.

Even better….we have an exceptional adoption event this weekend.
Tear Down Kennel D Pet Adoption Event
The sheltered dogs are asking Animal Welfare Department to tear down eastside kennel D or they will huff and puff and blow it down. Now is the time to help the animals in our city shelters. We are in need of the community’s support to adopt out our dogs before we begin construction on a new kennel building.
Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is hosting a Tear Down Kennel D pet adoption event to find loving homes for our sheltered pets. The adoption fee will be only $5. Animal Welfare will launch the event on Friday, August 26, through Sunday, August 28, at the Eastside, Westside and Lucky Paws Animal Shelters. People will be able to meet the pets and talk to an adoption counselor to get assistance in finding the pet that will fit their family.
During the event, Animal Welfare will reduce the fee that is typically charged for adopting pets, while keeping all other adoption policies in place, including thorough match-making procedures and background checks.
The tear down and rebuild of kennel D is expected to begin in September and the completion of the project is expected by the end of May. The funding for kennel D comes from General Obligation Bonds.
