ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — It’s another green flag day at the 53rd ExxonMobil Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta®, meaning conditions are safe for flying. Tuesday marks Coca-Cola Day, with a full slate of events underway at Balloon Fiesta Park.
The morning began with a Drone Light Show sponsored by Sandia Resort & Casino, followed by the Dawn Patrol and a mass balloon launch. Competition balloons launched from off-site and are flying toward target areas on the field. This is the second day of competition, and the public can track scores at WatchMeFly.net, with preliminary results posted daily at noon.
Toni Morgan performed the National Anthem before the launch. Visitors can also enjoy a chainsaw carving exhibition from 8 a.m. to noon.
Weather conditions are favorable: skies are mostly clear with light winds. Morning temperatures started in the mid-40s and are expected to rise into the low 70s by afternoon.
A full schedule of events is available at BalloonFiesta.com. All activities are weather permitting.
