Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The University of New Mexico has launched a study to modernize University Stadium and revitalize the South Campus into a mixed-use, economic development district. The study will assess the stadium’s condition, amenities and design. Then, they will see what enhancements UNM can make to support year-round events, like concerts and community gatherings. Gov. Lujan Grisham already approved the state capital outlay funding for the initial planning phase. UNM anticipates the study will take 6-12 months. The findings will be available in early 2026
