ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Early voting in Albuquerque’s mayoral election begins October 7 at the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Annex, with additional voting centers opening across the city on October 18.
Voters will choose from six remaining candidates after Daniel Chavez announced he was dropping out of the race last week. His name will still appear on the ballot. Incumbent Mayor Tim Keller is seeking a third term and currently leads in polling, followed by Darren White, a former sheriff and public safety director. Other candidates include Louie Sanchez, Alexander Uballez, Mayling Armijo, and Eddie Varela.
According to a recent Albuquerque Journal poll, more than 37% of voters remain undecided, making the race highly competitive. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, a runoff election will be held on December 9.
Election Day is set for November 4, and voters will also decide on several City Council seats.
