Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –The Albuquerque skies will be missing some bright yellow planes. Spirit Airlines known for its livery’s yellow planes and no-frills service, has struggled since the COVID-19 pandemic, and is fighting to rebound amid rising operational costs and its mounting debt. As a result of its bankruptcy declaration, the company will be ending flight service to 12 cities starting in October, including Albuquerque. Both United and Frontier announced Thursday they’ll be adding new flights to cities this fall and into early 2026.
