Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — An Albuquerque mother is facing child abuse charges after police say she made disturbing statements about harming her toddler. On Sunday, officers found Jessica Crespin at a bus stop with her two-year-old daughter, who was wearing only a diaper in the rain. Police say Crespin appeared to be under the influence of meth and told them she wanted to slit her daughter’s throat and wrist. A box cutter was found in her possession, and the child had visible cuts on her neck and leg. She was taken to UNM Hospital for evaluation. The state is requesting Crespin be held until trial.
