Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — A new event will be added to Balloon Fiesta this year celebrating the 100th anniversary of Route 66. Los Ranchos will host a ‘glow’ of remote controlled ‘globitos” on New Mexico Day, Monday October 6th. Sixty six globitos will line a half mile of 4th street that evening. The event is the first time an official Balloon Fiesta event has been held away from Ballon Fiesta Park. A limited edition pin will be available too, to commemorate the event.
