Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Police have charged an Albuquerque foster mother with child abuse after a 4-year-old was found with injuries behind both ears. The child, in state custody, was examined at UNM Hospital, where doctors said the bruising was consistent with trauma. Investigators say the foster mother, Johnnie Douma, admitted to grabbing the child’s ears and spanking him during accidents. Other children in the home backed up those claims. Prosecutors are asking she stay in jail until trial.
