A first-of-its kind project found that nearly 100-percent of partipants in the testing had one or more of the PFAS’ in their system. Residents who lived near the base’s contamination plume were three times more likely to have elevated levels. Six hundred twenty eight people were tested. The state’s Enviornmental Secretary James Kenny says ‘this evidence of harm the U.S. Air Force has done to its neighbors is a call to action immediatly”. Forever chemicals have been found to remain in the body and are linked to certain cancers, reproductive issues or elevated cholesterol levels.
