Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The Aldea Del Rio community is expected to bring about a healthier, one of a kind model, to affordable housing in the Duke City. The 97-acre community will house about 1,000 people, with 400 townhomes and 500 apartments. Designed with a focus on healthy living there will be on-site farming, growers’ markets, and greenhouses. Located on Rio Bravo Blvd. SW and 2nd St. SW., it will feature easy access to the Alameda Trail, the bosque, and the Rio Grande. The developer, “Yes Housing Inc” says the community will also have a small grocery store on site, as well as access to public transit, I-25, and some small retail businesses. It’ll be ready for move-in in 2027, and people can start applying towards the end of 2026.
