Duck standing
Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –UNM’s duck pond is set to reopen after months of restoration work. The project began last fall to improve infrastructure and accessibility. Crews installed a new filtration system and replaced the bridge. Officials say the pond can now be cleaned monthly and drained just once a year. During construction, birds and fish were moved to the UNM golf course. A soft opening is scheduled for August 8, with a full reopening in September—just in time for the Route 66 Centennial celebrations next year.
