
Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –According to the city of Albuquerque, 730 firefighters and 480 police officers went through active shooter training at the Gateway Center. Over the last six weeks, the Gateway Center hosted the Albuquerque Police Department and Albuquerque Fire Rescue for the exercize, which included training on treating patients and responding to a crisis. AFR’S Captain French says the facility is a versatile location, allowing them to train in a very realistic setting with law enforcement. The city has sponsored about 75 trainings at the Gateway Center over the last year.
