Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Just in time for the Fourth of July holiday, the Los Padilla swimming pool in the South Valley is expected to reopen on Wednesday. The yearly opening was delayed due to upgrades including new pumps, plaster, lighting, leak repairs, and improvements to the chemical and filtration systems. The county says the improvements will bring the pool up to modern standards, while extending its life span. Pool officials say that in appreciation of residents patience, there will not be an admission charge for swimmers for the remainder of the season.
