Rayne (ID# A 1700261) is a 1 year & 1 month old, female black & white Queensland Heeler & Siberian Husky mix. She is on the smaller size around 35 pounds. As you can see in her lovely picture she is an alert curious girl. She is well behaved in he kennel but a fairly energetic dog, probably the heeler in her. She is wonderful with people, very affectionate and a cuddle bug. She is pretty good on leash. Attending the training classes will polish skills our dogs already know as well as learning a few tricks to help ensure you have a polite companion for life. She enjoys playing with other dogs. She enjoys a hardy game of chase and can herd a bit using her body while playing. This poor girl came in with an injury to her tail so now has a little bob. It is healing nicely. She still has enough to wag and oh so cute. The last time she was in one of our play groups she played with a puppy and it was a joy to watch. Staff look forward to making introductions at our Lucky Paws location in Coronado Center Mall.

Iceland (ID# A 1692793) is a 1 year & 4 month old, brindle male Plott Hound & Dutch Shepherd mix. He weighs 37 pounds. This lovely boy is having a hard time in the shelter. He came in back in July so who can blame him. As we have mentioned so many times sometimes he gets frustrated and anxious in his kennel and so people pass him by assuming he is too energetic. If someone would just take the time to meet him they will find as soon as the kennel door is opened and he is away from the sounds of the kennel he is a sweet mellow lovely dog. He enjoys taking walks and is pretty good on leash. He is interested in meeting other dogs but has not been overly playful, just politely greeting but not entering into a game of chase. We think he is just enjoying the time away from the kennel and prefers it to play. In a home where he can gain a little weight, enjoy the security and routing he may become more playful. Iceland will be a wonderful companion. He is keeping his paws crossed to find his loving home very very soon. He is quite popular with our volunteers. It is a bit frustrating to us that people tend to pass by dogs like Iceland rather than taking a few moments to meet the true personality out of the kennel. Iceland is waiting for you at our Eastside shelter. Just walk over to the farthest building; it will be well worth it.
