SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) A former state agency administrator is under consideration to become CEO of the New Mexico Finance Authority. City of Albuquerque chief administrative officer Rob Perry is a finalist along with Texas Public Finance Authority executive director Robert Coalter. Perry was Corrections Department secretary in 1997-2002 under former Gov. Gary Johnson.
The NMFA governing board will interview finalists on Nov. 4, and is expected to make a decision that week.
Rick May was fired as CEO last year after the discovery that a financial audit had been faked and distributed to potential investors. NMFA ex-controller Greg Campbell pleaded guilty to forgery and securities fraud. The state auditor determined that Campbell acted alone and took no money.
Former state budget director John Gasparich has been interim CEO since August 2012.
