Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The transfer portal is starting to work in New Mexico’s favor as the Lobos pick up a couple of notable players. In football, UNM got a commitment from the University of Connecticut. 6-foot-6 tall freshman quarterback Cole Welliver leaves U-Conn for Albuquerque. He’s a former 3-star prospect out of Texas. In men’s hoops, UNM lands the Summit League’s Sixth Man of the Year in 6-foot-4 guard Tajavis Miller. He arrives from North Dakota State, where he played the last 3 seasons.
