Edgewood, NM (KKOB) – Residents in Edgewood are not happy with the towns leadership over the possible loss of fire and emergency services in the town.
An agreement between Edgewood and Santa Fe County, who has provided those services for Edgewood for years, was recently terminated by both parties.
Dozens of residents attended a packed Tuesday meeting in Edgewood to voice their displeasure over the cancellation of the contract without a plan on where those services will be coming from.
Santa Fe County says Edgewood stopped paying the county fully, so the county pursued a lawsuit. Edgewood says they didn’t stop making payments, but blame the disagreement the amount they were supposed to pay the county.
Another town meeting is scheduled for Tuesday April 14th.
