ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – Several restaurants across New Mexico are partnering today to raise money for the family of a fallen Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office sergeant.
Participating eateries are donating 100 percent of their profits on April 6 to support the family of Sergeant Michael Schlattman, who was killed in the line of duty earlier this year.
According to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Schlattman was conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 40 near Carnuel on February 23 when a semi‑truck struck his patrol vehicle, pinning him underneath. He died at the scene.
Select restaurants around the state are taking part in the one‑day fundraiser. Participating Albuquerque locations include:
- Pizza 9 (all locations)
- Chello Grill
- Saggios (Cornell location)
- Subway (7120 Wyoming Blvd. NE)
- Chicken Salad Chick (10621 Unser Blvd. NW)
The fundraiser is being coordinated through Fundaxi, a platform that connects local businesses with community fundraising efforts.
