Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –An Albuquerque man accused in a road rage shooting where a 19 year old was killed appeared in court today on a detention hearing. Cecilio Lopez is suspected of shooting and killing Roman Valenciano on San Mateo and Constitution earlier this week. Police say Lopez tried a U-turn but crossed into Valenciano’s path and hit the brakes. Lopez then sped up to Valenciano’s car and opened fire, hitting and killing him. Investigators used information from Lopez’s cell phone and license plate readers to track Lopez’s car and confirm he was driving on San Mateo at the time of the shooting. Judge Cindy Leos ruled today to keep Lopez behind bars until trial.
