Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Stage 1 fire restrictions begin tomorrow (THURS) in the Santa Fe National Forest. The restrictions are being put in place to reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires during the upcoming fire season. Stage 1 fire restrictions include building, maintaining, or using a fire, including charcoal and briquettes outside a fire structure provided by the Forest Service within a designated area. Smoking is also prohibited except within an enclosed vehicle or building or a developed recreation site. The restrictions will be in place through September 30th.
