Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Former Uber driver, Clayton Benedict was found not guilty of involuntary manslaughter on Friday. After five hours of deliberation the jury returned the verdict that ended a five day trial in 2nd Judicial court. The case dates back to St. Patrick’s day in 2019 when Benedict and a passenger got in a dispute that escalated quickly after a third passenger vomited in the car. Benedict testified he shot James Porter in self defense after Porter became irate when Benedict said he would impose a cleanup fee on the passengers. The shooting happened on I-25 after Benedict stopped his car and ordered the men out of his vehicle.
