Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Albuquerque theater advocates are pushing back after talk of a possible new operator at the KiMo Theatre. Several KiMo Theatre workers and city employees have expressed concern after learning the city was discussing a transfer of operations to “Legends Global”, the largest venue management company in the world. Advocates are worried that a private operator could limit access for local productions and youth performances. The city’s arts and culture director has said internal discussions about how to handle operations at the KiMo Theatre are still underway. Adding that the city’s priorities are quality programming, community engagement, accessibility and thoughtful stewardship of the landmark.
