Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –UNM announced today that their Board of Regents have approved construction of access gates at four campus entrances as part of efforts to enhance campus safety. The four automated gates will be installed along Central Avenue replacing temporary barriers that have been manually set up every night since August of 2025. The security gaes will be located at Princeton Drive, Stanford Drive, Yale Blvd and Terrace Street and will automatically close from 10pm to 6am. Construction will begin in May and the project is expected to be completed by September.
