Santa Fe, NM (KKOB) – Authorities have identified the person who killed a Santa Fe woman in her home over the weekend.
The woman’s son, Deven Roybal faces a charge of first degree murder in the death of his mother, 50-year old Jennifer Vigil. Santa Fe County sheriff’s deputies found Vigil dead in her home on Sunday in Rancho Viejo, after a family member called 9 1 1 to report that Vigil had not been answering her phone. Vigil was found with stab wounds on her lower back. Her son had been arrested Saturday evening in San Juan County on DWI charges while driving his mother’s car. Sheriff’s investigators had enough evidence to charge Roybal with his mother’s murder.
He is in jail facing first degree murder charges and tampering with evidence.
