Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — As TSA staffing shortages continue during the partial government shutdown, ICE officers are being sent to some U.S. airports to help manage security operations. However, the Albuquerque International Sunport is not currently one of them, according to airport officials. ICE officers are being assigned to airports with the longest wait times. Federal officials say ICE would assist with tasks that do not require specialized TSA training, helping reduce delays at checkpoints.
