Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — More women are enrolling in skilled trades programs at Central New Mexico Community College, according to new data from the school. CNM officials say women now account for about 20 percent of students in certain trades, including welding. Leaders say the growth is important as many skilled workers are expected to retire in the next decade. Students say the programs focus on practical skills and job readiness.
