Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Drivers across New Mexico are seeing sharply higher prices at the pump. AAA reports the state’s average gas price has risen more than a dollar per gallon in the past month, climbing from $2.63 to $3.78. The increase comes as ongoing conflict involving Iran continues to affect global oil markets. UNM finance professor Reilly White says higher fuel prices can boost state revenue tied to oil production, but also raise everyday costs for consumers and businesses.
