Albuquerque,NM (KKOB)- Albuquerque Police provided updates late Monday on two separate suspicious death investigations initiated on Sunday.
The first incident happened Sunday morning in the area of 6125 4th St. NW
Detectives are investigating the death of an unidentified man as a homicide. The body was discovered around 10:30 a.m behind the Guadalupe Plaza on 4th St.
Earlier on Saturday night, the Bernalillo County Fire Department responded to a small fire at the same location behind a home furnishings store. Firefighters put out the fire around 9:29 p.m., but they did not see a body at that time. 13 hours later, employees of nearby businesses found the man dead and called police.
APD Homicide detectives were called to the scene based on evidence that suggested the death was intentional. An autopsy performed Monday confirmed the man died as a result of a homicide, but the cause of death has not been released. That investigation remains on-going.
Another suspicious death happened inside a home on the 8300 block of Wilson Hurley Ct. NE.which is near Paseo del Norte.
Police initially were called to the home on Sunday at 1 p.m. An adult male was found by a relative inside the home. The death initially was thought to be a homicide, but after preliminary investigation and an autopsy performed on Monday did not reveal any trauma to the body.
Police investigators will await toxicology results from the Office of the Medical Investigator to determine the cause of death.
No further information was available from police.
