Albuquerque, NM(KKOB)- An Albuquerque jury found a man guilty of several sexual assault charges related to a case of human sexual trafficking. Alberto Carpio Villanueva was found guilty of 8 different crimes related to the sexual assault of a 15-year old girl who was brought to New Mexico from Honduras. According to records, Carpio-Villanueva pretended to be the victims uncle when she entered the U.S then sexually assaulted her from April 2021 to June of 2021. Carpio-Villanueva was found guilty Monday and faces up to 69 years in prison.
